Senior Finance Professional

We are seeking a detail-oriented finance professional to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for managing and delivering monthly financial reports, ensuring data integrity, preparing General Purpose Financial statements, liaising with auditors, and recommending procedural changes.
The successful candidate will handle financial reporting for the Department of Finance and Department of Defence, collaborate with stakeholders to improve business processes, and contribute to the management of the asset management accounting functions of DHA.
Main Responsibilities- Manage the development and delivery of monthly financial reports
- Review of financial transactions, preparation of financial journals and month end reconciliations
- Contribute to the preparation of General Purpose Financial statements
- Liaise with external and internal auditors
- Recommend procedural changes
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
- Experience with financial reporting and compliance
