We remain an Australian-owned business with family-operated branches located in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Cairns.

Due to our growth, we have an opportunity for a suitably experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Team Leader to join our Service and Warranty team on a permanent basis. The primary objective is to ensure all QLD clients are satisfied with our after-sales support. This includes servicing, workshop bookings, warranty, and general advice inquiries to ensure optimum vehicle uptime.

The role plays a pivotal part in maintaining confidence in both brand and product; therefore, strategies must be in place to ensure customers' needs are met and attended to, and staff are sufficiently trained.

Additionally, the role will oversee the Brisbane workshop operation, ensuring it operates productively while maintaining compliance with local laws, regulations, and safety standards.

The role will answer to the Branch/Operations Manager and is based in our QLD branch.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Liaise with sales to negotiate mutually agreed delivery dates for customers.
  • Communicate with customers internally and externally regarding job progress, concerns, or queries.
  • Inspect vehicles to ensure they are free from damage or defects.
  • Assist in preparing new vehicles based on customer specifications supplied by sales.
  • Coordinate third-party contractors.
  • Conduct warranty repairs in accordance with factory procedures and requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with government regulations pertaining to vehicles.
  • Maintain a tidy and presentable workshop environment.
  • Engage with clients to obtain feedback regarding product/service quality.
  • Assist clients in resolving issues and complaints concerning purchased products or services.
  • Build and establish good working relationships with clients to facilitate increased patronage and revenue.
  • Monitor contract details to notify clients of pending expiration and assist in processing renewal.
  • Oversee the customer service operation of a team to ensure clients are treated appropriately in line with set customer service standards.
  • Assist in developing and optimizing support and service processes, tools, and systems.
  • Provide periodic reports to management on all after-sales activities.
  • Ensure compliance with general and company policies when carrying out job duties.
  • Assist with day-to-day mechanical duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience in a Heavy Vehicle Workshop is necessary.
  • HVRAS (Heavy Vehicle Registration Assessment Scheme) qualification is desirable.
