Forest Management Specialist
The role of Forest Management Specialist is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on forest conservation and fire prevention.
As a key member of our team, you will lead the way in developing and implementing effective strategies for forest management, coordinating operations, and ensuring the effectiveness of our work centers.
We are seeking exceptional individuals who have a passion for natural resource management and a strong commitment to environmental conservation and public safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing forest management plans that prioritize sustainability and environmental protection.
- Coordinating with field teams to ensure effective delivery of forest management activities.
- Providing leadership and guidance to junior staff members.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in forestry, natural resource management or a related field.
- Proven experience in leading field work delivery teams and natural resource management.
- Ability to achieve accreditation and maintain competencies in Crew Leader/Operations Officer Level 1.
- Current manual Drivers License with conditions A acceptable for employment.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the protection of Victoria's stunning landscapes and communities while earning a competitive salary ranging from $66,265 to $74,200 per annum, plus superannuation.
Successful applicants will be required to complete the DEECA General Firefighter accreditation and hold corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period. Only Australian/New Zealand citizens or Australian Permanent Residents are eligible for ongoing positions.
