Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Victorian Planning & Connections department. As part of our team, you will contribute to the transition to a net zero economy by 2050.

Key responsibilities will include leading the connection process for renewable energy, battery storage, and emerging technologies within the Victorian Transmission Network.

  • Navigate complex technical, regulatory, and commercial aspects in a dynamic environment.
  • Work closely with generation developers, NEM advisory, developers, investors, manufacturers, consultants, governments, and AEMO teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Your experience in managing multiple projects, navigating complex technical and commercial aspects, and collaborating with stakeholders will be invaluable in this role.

This opportunity will see you become part of a growing infrastructure development and delivery organisation, with a pipeline of work extending beyond 2050.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets to achieve defined goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including developers, service providers, partners, government, and regulators.
  • Provide regular progress updates, chair project meetings, and offer strategic advice to management.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Recognised project management certification is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of the energy sector, including generator grid connections and large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum three years' experience in project, program, or portfolio management within energy, engineering, construction, or telecommunications.
