Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) team, you will play a vital role in influencing Project Managers to achieve HSEQ excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement HSEQ Standards: Steer the development and implementation of HSEQ standards that align with compliance and due diligence requirements.
  • Audit and Inspection: Undertake audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSEQ standards.
  • Reporting and Communication: Work closely with senior management to prepare reports and communicate HSEQ performance to stakeholders.
  • Employee Engagement: Motivate and educate BMD Constructions employees to champion best practice use of our systems.
  • Process Development: Develop work method statements, project plans, and inspection and test plans to ensure HSEQ excellence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement system changes and improvements to demonstrate continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • A qualification in work health and safety (minimum of Certificate IV).
  • Knowledge of current legislation, standards, and industry requirements.
Desirable Skills
  • Qualifications in training and assessment.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry.
