Steel Mains Job: Fitter/Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Fitter/Machinist to join our maintenance team. This is a full-time role that involves maintaining, repairing, and installing plant and machinery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining plant and machinery as directed by senior engineers
  • Repairing plant and machinery as needed
  • Installing and decommissioning plant and equipment
  • Updating the Maintenance Execution System (MEX) with work orders, spare parts used, and other relevant information

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A trade qualification in Engineering Mechanical Trade or equivalent
  • Proven experience in flux core welding and machining using lathes, mills, and drills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

This role offers a competitive salary of $33.31 per hour, plus overtime, superannuation, and annual leave. We also offer free onsite car parking and opportunities for career development.

Job Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience in a similar role (preferred)
  • Order picking forklift licence (preferred)
  • Forklift licence (preferred)
  • Driver licence (preferred)
