Administrative Operations Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Operations Director to join our team at Griffith University's Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics.
The successful candidate will support the Head of Facilities and Laboratory Operations, overseeing administrative functions such as technical support, infrastructure, research ethics, health and safety, finance, HR, and communications.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage day-to-day operations of the Institute's laboratory and facilities, including process development and implementation.
- E nsure high-level compliance with safety guidelines and legislation, oversee laboratory audits, and develop health and safety training.
- Handle space allocation, building infrastructure, major equipment, installations, contractor access, and renovations.
- Serve as the main contact for University Corporate Services functions, Science Technical Services, and the Office for Research.
- Offer guidance to the Executive team on planning, budgeting, and compliance, preparing briefing and planning documents.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant postgraduate qualification in science or an equivalent qualification and combination of relevant knowledge and experience in life sciences research.
You will demonstrate effective communication with researchers, staff, students, and external stakeholders, as well as the ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines.
Demonstrated attributes of resilience, flexibility, creativity, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship are also essential for continued success.

We offer a competitive salary package and a supportive work environment.
Salary PackageThe full-time equivalent base salary will be $138,753 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be $162,341 per annum.
