About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Recreational Activities Officer to join our team at BaptistCare. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and delivering engaging recreational activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recreational activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents
  • Collaborate with our care team to ensure that individual residents' needs, values, spiritual, and cultural preferences are respected and incorporated into activity planning
  • Provide support and guidance to residents to help them participate in activities and make informed choices about their care
  • Work closely with our care team to ensure that residents receive person-centered care that promotes their independence and autonomy
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (or willingness to complete)
  • Experience working with people with dementia (highly desirable)
  • Current NSW/ACT Driver's License and ability to transport residents on outings
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Willingness to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check or provide current clearance
  • Previous experience in caring for the elderly in an aged or community care setting
  • Highly developed organization and time management skills
  • Understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes
