About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our fishing crew as a professional. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the fishing industry and wants to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the vessel, including navigating through Australian Fishing Zones, ensuring the safety of crew members, and maintaining the overall well-being of the ship.

This is a full-time position that requires individuals to be away from home for several days or occasionally weeks. The company maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace, and employees are subject to random testing. A short turnaround is usually provided before returning to sea.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Navigating the vessel through Australian Fishing Zones
  • Assisting with daily fishing operations
  • Maintaining the overall well-being of the ship and its crew
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the fishing industry, preferably in ranked positions such as Ship's Master, Ships Engineer, or Master Fisher. Sea time of less than 5 years may be considered based on experience. Where applicable, candidates must hold the necessary licenses and registrations.

Fishing and Deckhands should have no less than 1 year's Australian work experience, preferably in catching and handling crab, evidenced by sea-time or log book. Verifiable letters of reference may also be acceptable.

Compensation and Benefits

Remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience. The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $65,835.00 and $73,150.00 per year, plus superannuation guarantee for highly experienced industry workers. Benefits include government-regulated superannuation guarantee.
