Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at RCR Mining Technologies. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design of Mechanical plant and equipment in the Bulk Materials Handling sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Design projects, including preparation of design plans, task and job lists, and documentation to track project progress.
  • Perform and verify designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, First Principles calculations, and/or current best practice Engineering methods.
  • Ensure designs are compliant with relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements, client specifications, and Safety in Design philosophy.
  • Enhance Engineering processes and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor team members towards peak performance.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of demonstrable experience in a Mechanical Engineering Design role.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation.
  • Relevant experience in the Mining and Resource industry.
  • Good Mechanical Engineering Design skills.
  • Competence in performing FEA calculations and validation using ANSYS, Nastran, and/or Strand7 software packages.
  • Demonstrated initiative in solving challenging problems.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and respond well to a changing work environment.
