Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

As a senior software engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the Australian payments industry by delivering critical software development across platforms.

The position is part of a large program of work that requires collaboration and effective stakeholder communication skills. You will be responsible for owning change initiatives end-to-end, from requirements gathering through to build, test and implementation.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to independently develop system changes based on defined requirements and analyze existing code and configuration to establish the current state, troubleshoot issues, and propose improvements.

Key to success in this role is a strong background in Mainframe Development/Engineering, along with mandatory skills in PL/1, PLI, IMS, and knowledge in the card and payments industry.

Able candidates should have good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements
  • Strong background in Mainframe Development/Engineering
  • Mandatory skills: PL/1, PLI, IMS
  • Nice to have: DB2, SQL, COBOL
  • Knowledge in the card and payments industry
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical design.
  • Good stakeholder communication skills with a collaborative mindset
