About Lawson Elliott

Lawson Elliott is a private property development group with a strong multi-billion dollar pipeline of projects in place, well set for future growth. As part of this, they are looking for an experienced Finance Director to take ownership of their finance function.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring a team of 10+ accountants covering various financial aspects. Key responsibilities include oversight of all financial reporting at a group level, management of group cashflow, profitability and performance analysis, and ownership of budgets and forecasts.

This role also entails being the key finance contact for the ELT and key managers across the business, managing relationships with outsourced providers, implementing controls and processes to facilitate ongoing growth, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should have CA/CPA qualifications and at least 15 years of experience as a Senior Financial Controller or Head of Finance, preferably from a construction or development background. Direct management experience of teams of 5-8+ members is essential. Additionally, strong Excel and system skills, experience in finance transformation, and change management are required.

You should possess excellent business partnering skills, be able to lead and inspire others, operate effectively in fast-paced complex environments, and communicate clearly and persuasively. A salary range of $250k-$280k + Super + Bonus is expected for this position.
