About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Advisor to join our Policy, Practice, and Research Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing policies that promote excellence and equity in mental health care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and analyze complex policy briefs and submissions related to psychiatry and mental health in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Conduct advanced research in mental health policy, health systems, and regulations, focusing on the psychiatry workforce.
  • Support the development of culturally safe and inclusive consultation processes to ensure policy incorporates lived experiences.
  • Collaborate with RANZCP committees and external stakeholders to advance policy objectives.

Requirements:

  • Proven knowledge and experience in mental health policy development and analysis.
  • Strong theoretical understanding of policy levers, including funding models, legislation, regulatory standards, and indicators.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and familiarity with membership or non-profit organizations.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $79,900 to $99,900 inclusive of Super and Leave Loading.
