About the Role

A leading global company in the life sciences, diagnostics, and applied chemical markets is seeking a skilled Hardware Quality Engineer to join their R&D team.

This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the development and delivery of high-quality scientific instruments that drive advancements in critical fields.

As a Hardware Quality Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of their scientific instruments.

You'll be a key player in the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products that meet customer expectations and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Quality Engineering efforts for New Product Development and Product Revision programs.
  • Champion Design Control, ensuring robust verification, validation, and traceability based on customer needs.
  • Stay ahead of the curve with relevant external regulatory standards and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D to define comprehensive test plans, covering performance, reliability, environmental impact, EMC, and safety.
  • Manage test schedules and provide support to Test Engineers in the Hardware Test Labs.
  • Dive deep into troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and recommending engineering solutions for test failures.

What You'll Bring:

  1. Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
  2. Demonstrated leadership skills, including excellent communication, planning, and collaboration abilities.
  3. Solid experience with product development processes and quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  4. Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams (R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing).
  5. Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, particularly related to safety and EMC testing.
  6. Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  7. A knack for thinking conceptually about design, testing, and improvement of complex products at the component level.

This is a 12-month contract position for a new project, with a high likelihood of a 6-month extension and the possibility of converting to a full-time permanent role.
