Return to Work Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced employment consultant to support parents in preparing for their return to the workforce.

The ParentsNext program is a government initiative aimed at helping out-of-work parents achieve education and employment goals by the time their youngest child turns 6. As a key member of our team, you will partner with parents to provide tailored support, building motivation around returning to work.

Your objectives will be to connect them with community resources and childcare services, identifying suitable education and employment goals. You will need to demonstrate:

  • Establishing relationships with organisations that generate referrals
  • Supporting customers to develop sustainable employment and education goals
  • Resourcefulness to develop participation plans with customers to achieve these goals
  • Knowledge of the local labour market and experience in placing clients into local employment opportunities
  • Excellent administration skills and ability to maintain regular assessments with customers
  • Flexibility to work across multiple locations to ensure the program runs smoothly and our customers receive prompt, high-quality service

People of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent are encouraged to apply. Travel within your region may be required.

Essential Criteria

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Satisfactory background checks, including NDIS Workers Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in customer-focused roles
  • Experience working with disability highly regarded
  • A current driver's licence (minimum P2)
