About the Role:

We are seeking a General Practitioner to join our team at a vibrant healthcare centre in Armidale. The successful candidate will work in both our primary healthcare centre and urgent care service.

  • Billing Structure:
    • Primary Healthcare Centre: Mixed billings
    • Urgent Care Service: 100% bulk billed
  • Roster/Shift Times:
    • Primary Healthcare Centre: 8:30-5:00pm Monday - Friday
    • Urgent Care Service: Various, currently aiming for 12:00 – 8:00pm, Monday – Friday and 9:00-5:00pm Sat/Sun
  • Patient Demographic:
    • Primary Healthcare Centre: Approximately 60% student-based / 40% community and families, ages ranging from Diverse cultures and mixed socio-economic status.
    • Urgent Care Service: Community and families, ages ranging from Diverse cultures and mixed socio-economic status.
  • Patient Load Per Day: Approximately spread among 4 GPs

Requirements:

  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Ability to work within a mixed billing structure and adapt to the needs of both student and community patients.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential shifts at the Urgent Care Service.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and working collaboratively with a team of 4 fellow GPs.
  • Support provided by 1-2 nurses and 2-3 receptionists at the primary healthcare centre, and 1 nurse and 1 receptionist per shift at the Urgent Care Service.

  • DPA Status: MM3, ASGS-RA2
  • Pathology: On-site when staff available; otherwise, 200m away at hospital and nearby in town.
  • Pharmacy and Allied Health: Nearby in town.
  • Imaging: Nearby in town and available for the Urgent Care Service for after-hours service.
  • Practice Manager Onsite: Primary Healthcare Centre: yes; Urgent Care Service: no
