Expert in Human Nutrition

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our Department of Food Technology and Nutrition as a Professor/Senior Lecturer in Human Nutrition. This is an ongoing full-time opportunity for someone who is passionate about teaching, research, and community engagement.

The successful applicant will have expertise in applied and/or clinical nutrition, sustainable food systems, or nutrition-focused entrepreneurship, with a growing record of peer-reviewed publications, translational outputs, and/or contributions to policy or practice.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality teaching materials and courses in Human Nutrition at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also play a key role in coordinating and delivering courses in Human Nutrition, ensuring alignment with academic quality standards, relevant health policy directions, and community needs.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop and lead high-impact, translational research aligned with the University's research priorities in the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition. You will establish and maintain strong interdisciplinary networks with internal RMIT stakeholders and external partners across government, not-for-profits, community organisations, and the food industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of teaching and research excellence, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively within academic teams, fostering a collegial and collaborative environment that supports excellence in teaching, research, and engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality teaching materials and courses in Human Nutrition at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Coordinate and deliver courses in Human Nutrition, ensuring alignment with academic quality standards, relevant health policy directions, and community needs.
• Develop and lead high-impact, translational research aligned with the University's research priorities in the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition.
• Establish and maintain strong interdisciplinary networks with internal RMIT stakeholders and external partners across government, not-for-profits, community organisations, and the food industry.

Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver courses in Human Nutrition at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels across both semesters.
• Experience contributing to the delivery and coordination of courses or program components in public health, community nutrition, or food systems, ensuring alignment with academic quality standards, relevant health policy directions, and community needs.
• An emerging nationally recognised research profile in applied and/or clinical nutrition, sustainable food systems, or nutrition-focused entrepreneurship, with a growing record of peer-reviewed publications, translational outputs, and/or contributions to policy or practice.
• Ability to work effectively within academic teams, fostering a collegial and collaborative environment that supports excellence in teaching, research, and engagement.
