Senior Staffing Lead
This is a key leadership role that plays a critical part in the development, implementation, and evaluation of our casual workforce.
The successful candidate will have a strategic focus and operational function, ensuring safe, high-quality patient-centered care and a culture that aligns with our mission and values.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the employment and performance of casual nursing, midwifery, and agency staff to meet clinical needs.
- Provide regular reports to stakeholders as required.
- Maintain and analyze statistical data relating to staffing utilization.
- Lead the coordination and facilitation of recruitment and employment of nursing and midwifery staff within Central Staffing.
- Identify and report on emerging trends to accommodate changing needs.
- Participate in strategic planning to ensure all identified workforce strategies.
- Initiate and contribute to Quality Improvement activities.
- Monitor the work environment for workplace health and safety hazards.
- Monitor compliance with annual performance development reviews, registration/licence renewals for all nursing and agency staff.
Clinical Outcomes:
- Support the identification and prioritization of improvements to ensure contemporary, cost-effective, high-reliability clinical care and patient outcomes.
Operational Outcomes:
- Partner with colleagues and consumers to determine service and operational objectives that provide an exceptional experience and outcome.
- Recognize and address inefficiencies in service provision and continuously improve business processes.
Leadership and Development:
- Effectively manage key relationships with peers and consumers across our organization.
- Represent, negotiate, and influence colleagues and peers to continuously improve.
- Collaborate in the development of policies and practice.
- Ensure development and succession plans are in place and actioned for own role and those of direct reports.
Performance and Accountability:
- Ensure direct reports have clear tasks and accountabilities associated with their roles and that these are communicated effectively.
- Guide, coach, and provide rapid, respectful, constructive feedback to direct reports.
- Consistently and visibly apply our accountability framework to address inconsistencies in behaviour, practice or performance.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- A current registration as a Registered Nurse.
- A tertiary qualification in health administration or management, clinical leadership, budget management, and finance would be highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a clinical specialty; Clinical Nurse or other leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to form effective, positive relationships across our organization in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong work ethic, agility, and willingness to role model and promote our values.
- A comprehensive understanding of public and private health systems.
- A sound knowledge of contemporary models of care and quality improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical, financial, and operational leadership.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Kronos, Shiftmatch, and relevant IT systems.
