Current Opportunity

At BDO, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Advisor to join our Corporate & International Tax team in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing advisory and compliance services to a diverse range of clients, including high net-worth individuals and large private and international groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage global assignee programs, including preparation of income tax returns and income tax equalisation calculations for expatriates.
  • Provide complex residency advice, private ruling applications, and reasonable arguable position papers.
  • Offer employee share scheme tax advice and undertake employment tax engagements.
  • Liaise with the ATO regarding client matters and prepare fringe benefits tax returns and work papers.
  • Help mentor and develop technical skills of graduates and junior staff.

Requirements:

  • Hold a university degree in commerce, accounting, and/or law (or related disciplines).
  • Have 1-4 years' expatriate tax experience, preferably in the tax practice of a Big 4/mid-tier accounting firm.
  • Be a CA/CPA/CTA Qualification holder or have a Masters of Taxation (or working towards).
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a passion for continued learning and improving technical expertise.
  • Have exposure to consulting a range of clients.
