Bridge Construction and Inspection Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Construction and Inspection Professional to join our team at Civil Services Group, based in Queensland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with extensive experience in bridge construction, routine maintenance, steel fabrication, and manufacture of precast concrete products.
**Job Summary:**
- Inspect the construction of structures including bridges, retaining walls, concrete barriers, drainage structures, and gantries.
- Undertake inspection functions/technical audits to ensure contractors/suppliers follow quality processes and procedures.
- Critically review welds in a Quality Assurance environment to reduce risk of non-conforming products.
**Responsibilities:
• Undertake site visits and inspections to monitor progress and quality of works.
• Identify and interpret structural and material defects, assess their criticality, and recommend required actions.
• Prepare written documents, including daily diaries, submissions/reports, and advice to clients.
• Communicate with project stakeholders, including principals, contract administrators, and senior engineers.
• Develop and maintain steelwork inspection and reporting systems, reviewing department standards.
• Provide effective administration, surveillance, and recording of documentation generated during manufacture, supply, and delivery of bridge products.
• Maintain detailed records and prepare reports to a high standard for presentation in a legal environment.
• Utilize comprehensive knowledge of policies, standards, and specifications, interpreting technical documents, standards, and drawings.
• Facilitate mutually agreeable outcomes to construction issues through relationship skills.
**Requirements:**
• Minimum 5 years' practical experience in bridge construction, routine maintenance, steel fabrication, and manufacture of precast concrete products.
• Demonstrated expertise in bridge construction and maintenance to Transport and Main Roads' policies, standards, and specifications.
• Technical knowledge and experience with respect to bridge structures, drainage structures, retaining walls, gantries, and construction materials.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management, and email.
• Certificate IV in Project Management, Certificate IV in Safety, or equivalent qualification (desired).
**Benefits:**
The successful candidate will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, and enjoy a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience. Travel to site on an ad/hoc basis is expected, with some Saturday and Sunday work may be required but this would be minimal.
