Job Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled Technical Field Officer to join our team.

About the Role

  • The primary objective of this position is to perform technical duties in the field, ensuring that equipment and systems operate effectively.
  • This includes diagnosing faults, performing repairs, maintenance, and upgrades on various electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical equipment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Test, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing support, repairs, maintenance, and upgrades of RAN Command and Control, Fire Control System, and Primary Search Radar equipment for ship and shore installations.
  • Assist in offsite activities, test, acceptance, and set to work of hardware at factory and ship/shore installations.
  • Take an active role in hardware maintenance and support work carried out in the Saab workshop and test sites.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum 3-5 years' industry experience in a similar engineering environment, supporting medium subsystems or group of smaller subsystems and/or equipment.
  • Experience with workmanship inspection and adherence to stipulated standards.
  • Proficiency in IPC workmanship standards.
  • Experience in circuits and wiring fault finding in PC and industrial computing bus systems (cPCI, VME).
  • Previous experience in field fault diagnosis and repair of electronic and electrical equipment.
  • Certificate III in Electronics and Communications Engineering (or related discipline).
