Internship Opportunity with Octagon

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team at Octagon, a leading sports consultancy and data analytics firm. The internship will provide hands-on experience in sports business intelligence, research, and insights.

About the Role
  • The internship is a non-paid position that must be undertaken as a requirement of an Australian tertiary course.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced analysts, participating in projects such as data collection, analysis, and insights to inform commercial and business strategy. Responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Collection and cleaning of sports match data to identify trends in audiences and brand exposure patterns.
  • Analysis and insights to understand patterns in camerawork and drivers of brand exposure during sports broadcasts.
  • Analysis and summary of trends in Futures sports fan surveys.
  • Other administration tasks requiring strong attention to detail.

As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in Excel, data analysis, and presentation of findings. We are looking for a self-starter with a keen interest in sport and the business of sport and entertainment.

Eligibility Requirements
  • You must be currently enrolled in an Australian tertiary course that requires an internship or placement as part of your course requirements.
  • Please provide your course details and subject information along with the number of internship hours required to be completed as part of your coursework.

Estimated Salary: AU$30,000 - AU$40,000 per annum based on national averages for similar roles in Australia.
