About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Department Champion to join our team at Bernardi's Supermarket. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day functions of your assigned department are executed to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain high standards of visual presentation and store standards to maximize sales
  • Ensure the execution of promotions and marketing plans
  • Oversee inventory management, including stocktaking and ordering
  • Deliver outstanding customer service standards
  • Ensure quality and safety duties, including receiving, inspecting, and storing of product, while maintaining date and rotation of products
  • Assist in profit and loss management, including sales, gross profit, and shrinkage budgets/targets
  • Assist in personnel cost management, including rostering
  • Lead and provide ongoing support, training, and development for your team, including performance management
  • Assist in safety and compliance management, including participation in department audits
  • Ensure accuracy of purchase orders and invoices, including placing of claims
  • Be aware of and follow all company procedures and policies
  • Possible use of cash registers at times
  • Effective communication to ensure good relationships with ASM, Store Manager, Team Members, Contractors, and Suppliers
  • Ensure a happy workplace where people love to come and work
