Job Role Overview

The Vehicle Safety Operations Branch is Australia's national regulator of road vehicle standards, with a key focus on enhancing vehicle safety, emissions control and anti-theft protection.

As a Team Leader ROVER Level 1 Support, you will be responsible for leading a client-focused team that interacts with industry, businesses, and individuals related to road vehicle standards.

This role includes:

  • Contribution to operational planning and monitoring.
  • Identification of opportunities for staff development and task delegation.
  • Fostering a cohesive team culture promoting openness, honesty, and knowledge sharing.
  • Demonstration of ethical and professional behavior as a standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the ROVER Level 1 Support team, including call centre operations and inbox management.
  • Oversight and maintenance of up-to-date scripts and templates.
  • Development and implementation of training materials for ROVER Level 1.
  • Responding to complex emails and calls as a secondary escalation point.
  • Engagement with stakeholders about applications and policy/standards.
  • Contributing to discussions regarding road vehicle standards legislation.
  • Providing statistical reporting as necessary.
  • Preparing analytical reports on identified issues through ROVER Level 1.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve business processes efficiency.
  • Responding to information requests.
  • Oversight of staffing, performance, and development of staff, including daily team management and workload management.
