The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services seeks an exceptional individual to fill the position of Auxiliary Firefighter. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland.

About Us

We are the primary emergency service agency in Queensland, responsible for delivering prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities across a range of emergency situations.

Purpose of the Role

This collaborative approach across the service and with key stakeholders delivers improved safety outcomes for the community.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Attend fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness.
  2. Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses.
  3. Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  4. Contribute to incident reporting and general station administration.
  5. Promote a positive team approach and comply with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements.

Requirements

  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies.
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status.
  • Manual C Class driver's licence.
