Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and managing rates section effectively
  • Handling rate issuance, rating models, and end-of-month/year processing
  • Overseeing debt recovery and legal actions
  • Managing Emergency Service Levy and property database integrity
  • Handling land parcels and street numbering
  • Leading, supporting, and conducting performance reviews for the team
  • Reconciling financial records, responding to inquiries, and assisting with ERP system implementation
Requirements
  • Experience in rates department of local government
  • In-depth knowledge of local government rating procedures, regulations, and Acts interpretation
  • Experience in accounting, budgeting, rating systems, and conveyancing
  • Expertise in debt recovery and legal procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mentorship, management skills, and team coordination abilities
