Job Title: Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of the team, ensuring that all maintenance requirements are met to the highest standards, in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

About the Role:

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining buildings, fixtures, and fittings to ensure they remain safe and functional;
  • Delivering high-quality and friendly services to staff, residents, and guests;
  • Leading a small team of Maintenance Officers, providing coaching and feedback to improve their performance and set performance and development goals for the team;
  • Prioritising and scheduling maintenance tasks;
  • Project managing renovations and other projects, including negotiating contracts and ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time;
  • Effective time and resource management, including managing multiple deadlines, contractors, and projects simultaneously;
  • Maintaining positive relationships with external contacts such as contractors and suppliers;
  • Coordinating with and overseeing the work of all contractors for maintenance requirements;
  • Monitoring staff and contractors to ensure effectiveness;
  • Supervising residents performing casual work;
  • Ensuring the maintenance shed and workshop are well-maintained and safe, with organised equipment and supplies;
  • Monitoring budgets, focusing on energy management, preventative maintenance, and capital planning;
  • Communicating with stakeholders impacted by projects to minimise disruptions;
  • Identifying areas for ongoing improvement in maintenance practices;
  • Executing a preventive maintenance program.

Requirements:

  • Effective leadership skills, with the ability to inspire teams towards common goals;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • Vast experience in performing various maintenance tasks;
  • Skill at managing competing tasks and team workloads;
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite and a willingness to use technology for efficient allocation and tracking of maintenance jobs;
  • Able to work independently without direct management guidance, maintaining a positive attitude towards teamwork.
