As an Electronics Technician, you will join our Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) Sustainment program working at our Northern Territory sites in a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) arrangement.

You will undertake preventative, corrective and deeper level maintenance activities on radar, electronics and communications equipment. You will also provide support for the operations, maintenance and development of the Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar Network (JORN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake preventative, corrective and deeper level maintenance activities on radar, electronics and communications equipment.
  • Provide support for the operations, maintenance and development of the Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar Network (JORN).
  • Utilise test equipment to carry out diagnostic and performance testing, including completing fault reporting requirements.
  • Carry out the rectification of deficiencies and defects of equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively and provide advice to stakeholders for the successful support and maintainability of equipment.
  • Analyse alarm information and systems data to diagnose performance and fault events.
  • Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve maintenance activity practices on equipment.

About You:

We are looking for an Electronics/Radio Frequency technician with experience in fault finding and a Certificate 3 in Electronics or extensive demonstrated Electronics technical experience.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to undertake a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) work arrangement including day and night shifts, an Unrestricted Australian Drivers license, and the willingness to complete remote driving training course.

They should also be resilient, have good problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively autonomously and in a small team environment.

Radio frequency (RF) technical experience or Defence industry experience as an electronics technician will be highly regarded.

Good computer literacy skills, including the ability to perform technical report writing, analyse and interpret complex data and maintenance information are essential.
