Senior Data Engineer - Market Risk Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to join Westpac as a Senior Data Engineer - Market Risk Specialist. As a key member of the Financial Markets Technology Team, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of a new market risk solution for APS116 – Market Risk in the Trading Book.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop data engineering solutions for large-scale data processing and analysis
  • Lead a team of developers in the implementation of the market risk solution
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop solutions
  • Ensure adherence to organizational frameworks and processes
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering design, coding, and development
  • 5+ years of experience in Python and big data platforms
  • PySpark experience is highly desirable
  • Palantir Foundry experience is highly desirable
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of developers
  • Financial Markets and/or Market Risk banking experience is desirable
