Mechanical Plant Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Plant Specialist to join our team on the Eastern Freeway Burke to Tram Alliance project. This is a fantastic opportunity for career progression and growth within a strong pipeline.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for inspection of plant and equipment against Legislative requirements and project specific standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Inspection and maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure compliance with LORA Primary Standards and project requirements;
- Gathering supporting information as per Plant mobilisation documents and uploading into the System, providing regular reports as required;
- Conducting regular compliance checks to notify Suppliers and project teams of upcoming inspection expiry dates;
- Providing data on Plant Safety & Environmental Management and issues;
- Upskilling the site team in plant management and assessment through hands-on and theoretical training;
- Assisting the project with Management of Breakdowns & Maintenance requirement for plant & equipment;
- Tracking and recording fuel utilisation against each asset.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A trade qualification – Mechanical (Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic);
- Demonstrated experience in managing fleets, plants, and equipment, along with skills in scheduling and strategic planning;
- Experience in preventative maintenance, electrical and mechanical fault diagnostics, and repairs of Civil/Mining Earthmoving Equipment;
- Ability to effectively communicate information to internal and external stakeholders;
- Able to engage in proactive behaviour and exercise initiative, managing time and multiple plant at once;
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated professional with a proven track record of meeting deadlines;
- A demonstrable understanding of safe working practices as they relate to the type of work to be performed.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
