Psychological Therapist and Employment Consultant

About the Role
This challenging opportunity is part of a national not-for-profit organisation, Workskil Australia Ltd, dedicated to supporting Australians in achieving sustained economic and social self-reliance. As an Allied Health Consultant TtW, you will provide evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, formulation, treatment, and prevention of mental health disorders and other systemic barriers.
You will be working closely with customers across Armadale and Cannington, addressing their non-vocational barriers and developing their skills and job readiness. This role involves delivering training relevant to the field and consulting with site staff and other service providers.
This fixed-term position offers a unique work-life balance with a 9-day fortnight and a dedicated day off every second week. You will receive the remuneration of a full-time employee, along with the opportunity for salary packaging.
About You
To succeed in this role, you must have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. You should be competent in applying various psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions to consumers with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employ a range of strategies to effectively resolve conflict;
- Show sound understanding of available mental health and support services;
- Prove your experience in providing individual therapy, group therapy, and case management;
- Demonstrate the ability to critically analyse or evaluate issues related to psychological care;
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of the local labour market;
- Demonstrate experience working effectively with culturally diverse people;
- Demonstrate understanding of barriers to employment for disadvantaged individuals and communities;
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of WHS Responsibilities.
You will also be required to hold a current driver's licence and possess a Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counselling. Social Workers must be registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
