Geospatial Assurance Specialist Role

This is a 12 month contract opportunity to join our maritime geospatial team. Located in Wollongong, NSW.

A key requirement for this role is the ability to hold a baseline clearance.

The successful candidate will perform and achieve maritime geospatial chart quality assurance and production work.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform straightforward maritime geospatial chart quality assurance and production tasks
  • Contribute new ideas and identify opportunities to improve the work of the team
  • Monitor task progress against performance expectations to ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain and enhance geospatial databases using experience in Geographic Information Systems
  • Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks and international and national standards
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Sound knowledge of the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) Charting specifications
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian Charting specifications
  • Sound knowledge and experience compiling and QA nautical charts (paper and digital)
  • Sound knowledge and experience validating Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC)
  • Ability to work independently and follow procedures
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to contribute to a continuous improvement process
