Job Title: Immigration Policy Specialist

About the Opportunity

This role involves working within a team responsible for administering Australia's Permanent and Temporary Migration Programs, people smuggling policy, and implementation of the Refugee and Humanitarian Program and Settlement Programs.

About the Team

The team delivers status resolution in detention and the community, and manages client-facing services and information services. It also provides policy advice on national impacts of migration, citizenship, people mobility, and delivers programs promoting social cohesion and multiculturalism.

We are seeking an experienced professional to manage or lead a team, assess and make decisions, write policy or provide policy advice, manage programs or contracts, and perform other enabling and supporting functions.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and an ongoing Australian Public Service employee at the APS6 classification.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:

  • ABF Workers will also require an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC)
  • Home Affairs Workers will also require an Onboarding Check
