Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced psychologist to join our team as a locum Psychologist. This casual opportunity allows for flexibility and the chance to explore every corner of Australia while providing high-quality clinical care to active ADF members.

About the Role

This role involves working within a health centre, addressing the diverse mental health needs of ADF members through comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatments. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, utilising your skills and expertise to provide exceptional care. Autonomy is granted in managing your caseload, including overseeing externally referred cases and providing treatment to Defence members.

Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for ADF members
  • Deliver evidence-based, focussed Psychological Strategies and other interventions as required
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
  • Manage crisis situations, conduct risk assessments, and develop risk management plans
Requirements
  • A current, unconditional, and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
  • A minimum of 2 years' post-graduate experience in mental health within the last 5 years, including conducting comprehensive assessments and delivering evidence-based treatments
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (HLTAID009)
  • Familiarity with state/territory policies, national standards, and the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018-2023 is highly desirable
  • Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence security clearance
