Job DescriptionAs a Genomic Scientist, you will play a key role in advancing our laboratory's genetic pathology service. Your responsibilities will include working as part of a collaborative team on routine testing and specimen preparation, analysis, and reporting of referrals by cytogenomic and/or molecular technologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the laboratory team to develop, validate, and implement genomic assays into a diagnostic setting.
- Perform designated testing procedures as outlined in methods and procedures, ensuring adherence to NPAAC/NATA ISO15189 requirements.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
- A Bachelor of Science or an equivalent qualification in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Experience in cytogenomic and/or molecular genetic testing would be advantageous.
- Recognised professional qualification in Clinical Cytogenetics or molecular genomics is desirable.
You will be a strong communicator with excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and accountability.
