Emergency Department Physiotherapy Leader

Maitland Hospital is a modern healthcare facility providing a wide range of medical services to the Hunter Valley region. Our hospital features state-of-the-art equipment, expanded emergency and maternity services, and improved inpatient care.
You'll work in a dynamic environment with a team of experienced professionals, including ICU Level 4 physiotherapists, senior ward staff, and early-career physiotherapists. About the Role:
As the primary care clinician in our busy Emergency Department, you'll deliver expert care to patients across various settings. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring timely and effective physiotherapy interventions for fast-tracked patients, those awaiting admission, and non-admitted patients
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including nurse practitioners, nursing staff, allied health assistants, and medical staff
- Representing Allied Health in ED team meetings and contributing valuable insights
- Providing occasional support to wards or outpatient services, if needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Strong clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- The ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with senior physiotherapy leadership
- A commitment to ongoing professional development, particularly in the ED setting
- Confidence in discussing emerging issues with ED leadership teams
- Engagement in physiotherapy networks for ED within NSW Health
