Maternity Nurse & Gynaecology Specialist

Deliver high-quality patient-centred care in a dynamic Maternity and Gynaecology Service environment.

You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide efficient and compassionate care to women from various medical specialties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing person-centred care that meets patient and family needs
  • Advocating for patients to support informed decision-making
  • Communicating clinical interventions and service delivery processes
  • Referring patients for discharge planning
  • Supervising and mentoring staff and students

Professional development is supported through orientation, a Clinical Nurse Educator, and regular education opportunities from the Maternity and Gynaecology Service and hospital-wide resources.

Working Environment

The position is based on Ward K3 within the Maternity and Gynaecology Service, where you will care for surgical patients allocated to flexible surge beds. The ward features eight beds that expand during periods of high activity, allowing you to practice and enhance your skills across a diverse range of disciplines.

Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Additional Information
  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part-time or temporary vacancies
  • Australian Citizenship, permanent residence, or NZ citizenship with NZ passport required for permanent employment
  • Temporary visa holders may be considered only if no suitable local candidate is identified; visa sponsorship is not available
