Job Title: Data Insights Lead

Job Overview

The Data Insights Lead will work with healthcare data sets to build reports and visualisations that inform decision making and health service planning. The role involves analysing data displayed via visualisations, providing advice and support in the interpretation of results.


Responsibilities
  • Data Reporting: Develop interactive visualisations that allow stakeholders to interact with various data sets utilised for decision making. Essential skills include Qlik and/or Power BI as reporting tools, ensuring they are easy to use for stakeholders from financial, business and clinical backgrounds.
  • Data Interpretation: Translate results into actionable insights, applying robust critical appraisal and formulating recommendations to inform policy advice and development. High-level expertise is required in data visualisation and creation of compelling narratives to enable storytelling with data.
  • Data Discovery: Expertise is needed in discovering, locating and extracting healthcare and funding data from complex multisystem architectures. Ability to apply quantitative and qualitative mixed methodologies independently for capturing, collecting and creating new data to inform decision making and policy.
  • Data Governance: Sound understanding of ethical data governance frameworks and ability to leverage sound data management principles in handling all data within the organisation.

About You
  • Key Requirements: Advanced skills in reporting and visualisation creation, with experience working with health-related activity and funding data.
  • Technical Skills: Developed expertise in Qlik, Power BI and other related reporting tools, as well as querying languages such as SQL, SAS and Python.
  • Analytical Abilities: Proven ability to work with and transform multiple data sets to inform decision making.
  • Communication Skills: Proven ability to support key stakeholders in interpreting data and drawing conclusions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Advanced understanding of the Australian Healthcare System, Healthcare Funding and/or Health information Systems.
  • Personal Qualities: Advanced communication skills – both interpersonal and written.
