The Role:

We are seeking a talented Department Manager to join our team, who will be given the opportunity to treat their department as if it were their own business. They will be empowered to tailor the store's service and product offerings to meet the specific needs of customers in the local area.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you must be passionate about fresh food within the grocery retail industry. You should have a positive 'can do' attitude, be able to problem-solve, lead by example, motivate a team, and communicate effectively with management, team members, customers, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with both team members and management to achieve sales and customer satisfaction targets
  • Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales and improve customer engagement
  • Lead and manage a team of employees, providing coaching, training, and performance management
  • Maintain high standards of work health and safety, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve organisational goals and objectives
