Compensation Specialist

At Gallagher Bassett, we're seeking a skilled Impairment Benefits Specialist to join our team on a 12-month contract. This technical role involves completing thorough assessments of Impairment claims for injured workers, in addition to their primary claim.
As an IBS, you'll determine eligibility for lump sum impairment payments for injured workers who have been impacted by impairment as a result of a Workplace Injury. Your attention to detail and sound decision-making within Workers Compensation legislative frameworks will be essential to your success in this position.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Calculating Impairment Benefit Lump Sum payments and processing these for injured workers
- Arranging Impairment Assessments and preparing relevant documentation and notices relating to requests for Impairment Benefit lump sum payments
- Providing a professional and customer-focused claims service for all injured workers through managing impairment claims in accordance with legislation
- Acting as a technical reference point for other team members regarding impairment benefit queries
- Ensuring impairment assessments are accurate and complying with relevant legislation if and when required
We're looking for a claims expert who possesses:
- Experience within the Worker's Compensation Industry, specifically within an Impairment Benefits related role, or completion of Impairment Benefits training. Experience within a similar role will also be considered.
- Experience in client service roles
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Industry-specific qualifications: VWA and TAC Industry Training Programs are desirable
- Excellent customer service skills, communication, and interpersonal skills
