Lead Banquet Operations

The Lead Banquet Operations role is a senior position within our hotel’s events team. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the day-to-day management of banquets, conferences, events, and weddings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for improving banquet operations efficiency and effectiveness
  • Manage the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring timely execution and attention to detail
  • Collaborate with catering and events teams to deliver exceptional service and high-quality food offerings
  • Lead onboarding and training sessions for new team members, focusing on excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the events team to discuss upcoming events and share best practices

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar leadership role at a large hotel (200+ rooms)
  • Proven track record in event management and banquet operations, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Strong ability to manage costs and budgets effectively
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills, with a strong focus on team building and development
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Highly attentive to detail, with a strong focus on quality and excellence
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Current QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol and First Aid certifications
