Operations Manager

Assist with the day-to-day management of a shift, including work scheduling, resource allocation, staff supervision and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate vehicles according to defined schedules.
  • Coordinate additional customer pickups, stock and ULD deliveries.
  • Use Despatch Master to allocate work and customer collections.
  • Provide assistance in ensuring recovery activities are initiated in the event of breakdowns, accidents or other events that impact service delivery.
  • Identify and report opportunities for improved customer service.
  • Maintain and input data into transport system databases, and provide reports.
  • Deal with breaches to policies, procedures and behavioural issues as they occur.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and enforce organisational objectives in OH&S.
  • Assist where required in safety investigations and observations.

Requirements:

  • Ability to build and maintain co-operative relationships with customers.
  • Same Day time-critical Courier despatching experience >2yr.
  • Proficiency in Courier Transport Scheduling Systems - Despatch Master.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NSW Courier Contract Determination.
  • Detailed knowledge of B2B AND B2C Courier market & service requirements.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve workplace conflicts.
  • Ability to influence and facilitate change.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the proven ability to effectively manage and develop people and teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of transport operations management.
  • Self-Awareness & Continuous Learning.
  • Well-developed oral and written communications skills.
