Senior Business Bookkeeper Job Description

A dynamic and challenging role has become available for a highly skilled Senior Business Bookkeeper to join a well-established and award-winning accounting firm in Melbourne, VIC. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional bookkeeping services and advising businesses across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive bookkeeping services, including bank reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable, and management reporting.
  • Maintain close client relationships by providing proactive updates, addressing inquiries, and delivering a positive client experience.
  • Collaborate with the Bookkeeping team to provide support and technical guidance, while also offering training and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the firm to ensure the seamless delivery of integrated advice on all opportunities.
  • Strategically plan and supervise project execution, task allocation, and ensure timely and budget-conscious project completion.
  • Continuously improve internal processes and procedures to ensure technical and legislative accuracy, adherence to best practices, and the promotion of a culture of regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial bookkeeper or public practice.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Xero, Xero Add-Ons, and GSuit.
  • Excellent taxation and legislative knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
