Senior Mental Health Nurse

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at a category B Prison. As part of this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health care to patients in a prison setting.

This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team environment. The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and be committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our service users.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the social and emotional factors that influence behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality mental health care to patients in a prison setting
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective treatment plans
  • Support patients to manage their mental health and engage in recovery-focused activities
Requirements:
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification (RMN) or equivalent
  • Experience working in a mental health or prison setting
  • Sound knowledge of mental health legislation and policies
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
