We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live independently in the community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care and assistance with domestic duties to clients with varying levels of support needs.
- Support clients with physical disabilities, including transfers, use of equipment, and hoisting.
- Assist with bowel care and catheter care, as required.
- Work collaboratively with a care team approach, including guidance from professionals, to support clients to achieve their goals.
- Provide transportation for clients, using your own vehicle, and be reimbursed for costs.
- Work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with some short shifts and sleepovers.
- Good judgement and common sense, with excellent listening skills and a willingness to learn.
- Experience working with clients with physical disabilities, including transfers and use of equipment.
- Experience in bowel care and catheter care.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a care team.
- Full driver's licence and a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Competitive hourly rate of $43.67.
