Teacher Of Vce Visual Communication & Design And Art

The role of the classroom teacher is multifaceted and requires a high degree of professional knowledge, skills and practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement curriculum programs that meet the diverse needs of all students
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and other stakeholders to promote student learning and wellbeing
  • Participate in ongoing professional learning and development to improve teaching practices
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures that support student learning and wellbeing

Selection Criteria:

  • Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills
  • Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs
  • Ability to plan for and implement high-impact teaching strategies
  • Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Behaviours and attitudes consistent with department values

Role Profile:

The classroom teacher range 2 plays a significant role in assisting the school to improve student performance and educational outcomes. This involves increasing the knowledge base of staff within the school about student learning and high-quality instruction.

Range 2 classroom teachers are expected to model exemplary classroom practice, mentor/coach other teachers, provide expert advice on content and pedagogy, supervise and train student teachers, and assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches.
