Job Overview

We are seeking a professional to fill the role of Pre-Natal Child Protection Specialist in our New England district.

The successful applicant will be responsible for responding to reports of safety concerns surrounding children or young people who may have been harmed.

The position requires working sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people, and collaborating with other agencies and engaging in complex problem solving.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to reports of safety concerns surrounding children or young people
  • Working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders
  • Undertaking assessments and investigations to identify and address safety and risk concerns for children following their birth
  • Advocating for and supporting families to engage with services and participate in meetings such as Pregnancy Family Conferences or hospital complex case meetings

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, Welfare or related discipline.

You will also need to have experience in child protection assessment and case planning, as well as the ability to engage with families to support participation in Pregnancy Family Conferencing to develop achievable family action planning.
