Maintenance Fitter Role at Lactalis Australia

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Lactalis Australia, the largest dairy processor in the world.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum + benefits.

About This Opportunity

This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment, including preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, performing repairs to minimize downtime, and maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.

  • Perform installations, repairs, and maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including logs of repairs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment overall performance, including providing feedback and implementing improvements to procedures.
  • Work closely with production staff to minimize disruptions and downtime.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
  • Experience with welding using Oxy, Tig, and Mig.
  • Experience with machining, and fabricating parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
