Job Title: Wildlife Conservation Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and self-motivated wildlife conservationist to join our team on a temporary part-time basis. As a Wildlife Conservation Assistant, you will play an active role in the organisation and delivery of daily activities at Blackbutt Reserve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of daily activities at Blackbutt Reserve.
  • Implement education programs and contribute to park maintenance and presentation.
  • Care for animals in accordance with CN's Code of Safety Practice, WHS Guidelines, and the NSW Exhibited Animals Protection Act.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and visitors, striving to enhance and showcase Blackbutt Reserve as a premier tourist destination.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to work unsupervised, using initiative and problem-solving skills to overcome daily issues.
  • Experience in the safe operation of machinery and equipment, and proven ability to undertake general park maintenance activities to agreed service levels.
  • A passion and duty of care for conservation and wildlife.
  • Availability to work a flexible roster including weekend shifts, public holidays, and after-hours activities.
  • NSW Driver's Licence Class C (manual desirable).
  • Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $36,083.44 + 11.5% Superannuation per annum for a 21-hour week. In addition to your salary, you will also receive access to a range of employee benefits and perks.
