Marine Chef

Job Summary:

The Department of Home Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Marine Cook to join our team. As a Marine Cook, you will be responsible for providing a nutritious and varied diet for crew members and transportees on Australian Border Force (ABF) vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare meals for crew and transportees, taking into account dietary and cultural requirements
• Clean and maintain galley equipment and work areas
• Manage food and consumable stocks, ensuring suitable storage and reordering
• Provide logistical feedback and information to Marine Logistics Services
• Provide administrative support, including responsibility for victualing duties
• Promote a professional working and dining environment, ensuring a safe workplace under the departments WH&S Policy

Requirements:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including night shifts and weekends
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance
